IZZAL POTTER

Children's Pastor

Elizabeth, but Izzal: I was born in San Diego, the only girl in a family of five kids. My folks moved us to the Central Valley when I was in kindergarten and I’ve pretty much been here since. My husband, David, is my high school sweetheart; we reunited in our early 20’s and now have five children together. They keep us busy, humble and ALWAYS seeking the Lord.

I think it’s important to start by thanking all of the wonderful volunteers that actually make Children’s come to life. Thank you for your time and dedication. Nothing would make sense without all of you.

Most days being the Children’s Pastor feels like being a mama. It’s fun and hard and scary; important, exhausting, challenging and fulfilling. To the untrained eye everything in Children’s looks like chaos, and they aren’t wrong. It’s loud and always moving. It’s kinda messy and things don’t
always go as planned. But if you lean in a bit, what you’re actually looking at is a place where your kids come, and the most amazing people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working alongside, love your children to the best of their ability, purely out of their love for the Lord. They answer funny questions about Adam’s birthday, teach your kids about patience, sharing, loving others, loving themselves, loving their families. We celebrate birthdays and play silly games. We pray over your children and comfort your crying babies. I don’t think that we always get it right, but I know we always do it out of a heart of love and because of that God is in it blessing everyone involved, and I’m happy to be involved.
